How it started

From Vision to Reality:
The Solar-Powered Audio Bible Story

In the early 1980s, a small group of visionaries felt a deep burden: millions around the world had never heard the Word of God – not because they were unwilling, but because they were unable.

Driven by the Great Commission and a passion for innovation, they pioneered the first solar-powered audio Bible, determined to bring Scripture to every heart, in every language, no matter the barriers.

1986

A group of believers in Australia, led by Bible Society leader Tom Treseder, began praying for a way to bring Scripture to the billions who couldn’t read it for themselves.

1988

God brought Tom together with American engineer Ken Crowell, uniting vision and technical expertise to pioneer a solution never before attempted.

1988

Tom drew the first concept of a durable, no-moving-parts device that could play the entire Bible—years before MP3 players even existed.

1991-1997

The team overcame major technical barriers, gradually increasing storage capacity from 15 minutes of audio to over 60, laying the groundwork for full Bible recordings.

1999

After years of development and divine provision, the first fully functional solar-powered audio Bible was launched, ushering in a new era of Scripture access for the unreached.

Early 2000

MegaVoice International is established to provide a way for ministries and individuals to supply audio Bibles to missionaries and communities around the world.

To ensure that every person, regardless of their circumstances or location, has access to the Bible in their own Heart Language.

We understand that for many people, reading printed Bibles is not an option. Many communities thrive on orality, others have lost their vision, don’t have access to the Bible in their language, or simply never learned to read. We are inspired by the words of Jesus who said, ‘The poor you will always have with you.’ As we strive to fulfill our mission, we remain committed to sharing the Bible until the day Christ returns.

Statement of Faith

We believe...

The Bible is the inspired Word and revelation of God. These Scriptures are our final authority in faith and conduct.

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, yet one in essence, coequal and coexistent.

That Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity and the eternal Son of God, was begotten of Mary, a virgin, by the Holy Spirit and was born a man. We believe in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His substitutionary atoning death through His shed blood on Calvary’s cross, in His bodily resurrection from the dead, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal visible return in judgment, power and glory.

That faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only condition of salvation. This faith is a result of God’s gracious work of regeneration by the Holy Spirit, who causes one to realize the lost and sinful condition of the heart and enables one to turn in repentance and trust to God as the sole deliverer from sin.

The follower of Jesus Christ is a new creature whose life is bound to Jesus Christ, Savior, Lord, Source and Sustainer of faith. Through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, the Christ follower is enabled to live a godly life of active love, bearing witness to the Lord’s powerful presence and thus glorifying Him before all people.

There is a spiritual unity among those who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. These people are part of Christ’s universal Church and are entrusted with God’s glorious message of salvation.

The eternal destination of every person will be determined entirely by their relation to Jesus Christ. All who have accepted Christ’s redemptive work will be kept to dwell with Him in heaven, perfect in every respect because of the presence of God. All who are not reconciled to God through Christ will be eternally separated from Him. In loving response, Christians are called to fulfill the Lord’s Great Commission.

Our Objectives

Our goal is to distribute 16 THOUSAND audio Bibles by 2026.

Promoting “best practices” of resources, including time, finances, and talents. Encouraging wise decision-making and responsible stewardship to maximize impact and support our missionaries effectively.

Tom Treseder

Tom, a leader with the Australian Bible Society, felt called to reach the blind and illiterate with God’s Word. His vision inspired the creation of the world’s first solar-powered audio Bible, the MegaVoice.

Ken Crowell

Ken was a mechanical engineer and follower of Jesus whose integrity and innovation helped bring the solar-powered MegaVoice audio Bible to life, giving millions access to God’s Word worldwide.

Rudolf Geigy

Rudolf, a Swiss businessman devoted to the Great Commission, provided the resources and vision that helped pioneer the solar-powered MegaVoice audio Bible for people across the globe.

Where are the audio Bibles distributed?

We distribute audio Bibles to remote villages, persecuted believers, and people in need across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and beyond. Our partners work directly with local churches and ministries to ensure they reach the right hands.

What languages are available?

Our audio Bibles are available in thousands of languages, allowing people to hear God’s Word in their heart language. We work with translation partners to expand access to new languages regularly.
